Tasks Key Features

Tasks

Task work requester web browser pages allows anyone on your network to view and request tasks. The task requester displays the list of open tasks so that they can see what tasks have been authorised, which engineers are to do what and when the task is scheduled for. The task list can be filtered so that the personnel can view the task relevant to them.

Tasks

The tasks can be viewed on the task calendar this shows the tasks for a month here the tasks can be dragged and dropped onto another date or the time can be changed to re-schedule the task. This simplified the planning of task.

Tasks

Tasks are split into task type lists. These are breakdowns, health and safety, preventative maintenance, improvements, services and routine tasks. This organised the tasks making them easier to manage.

Spares can be linked to a task giving a task spares inventory.
To identify a spare on the system you use the advanced component type search mechanism using the component type's categories and the spares properties. Once identified it can be dragged and dropped onto the task linking it to the task. By doing this you are creating a history of spares used on the machine and the machines the spares has been used on. This linking method can be used for scheduled tasks giving the scheduled tasks inventories.

What Tasks Do

Tasks are designed to communicate what work in the factory is required to the engineers that need to perform the tasks.
The advantages of using this software system are:
  • The tasks are sorted by task type. These are breakdowns, health and safety, preventative maintenance, improvements, services and routine tasks. This makes them easy to sort and distribute.

  • The web browser task requester can be used which allows the relevant departments to create tasks.

  • Tasks are associated with a machine and a site location. This allows a history to be built up for analysis or to identify reoccuring faults.
    This means that:
    • Task history on the machine can be checked to give any relevant information on the machine related to a fault.
    • The task and spares history can be analysed to give an overview of the machines performance and cost (this can highlight reoccuring problems).
  • The spares are associated to the task so that:
    • Planned tasks have an inventory list.
    • A spares history on the machine can be built up (this can highlight reoccuring problems).
    • Spares can be assigned to the task from storage or a order request can be created.
    • A task costing can be made.

How Tasks Works

The tasks are arranged in lists making them easier to manage and assign to engineers.
The first task page shows all of the tasks matching the filtered criteria.
The following pages show the tasks of that type. The types of tasks are breakdowns, health and safety, improvements, preventative, services schedules and routine tasks.
Tasks can have a machine and site location assigned using the drop down lists.
Tasks can have an engineer or an engineering team assigned and tasks can have a contract engineer or team assigned.
Tasks have a raised date, scheduled date and completed date.
Spares can be assigned to the task this is done through the short lists.

What This Means

Cost savings:
  • Tasks are sorted by task type making them easy to sort and distribute.

  • The task history can be used to identify reoccurring problems meaning the root problem can be engineered out. This can significantly reduce downtime and engineering time.

  • The task inventory means the spares can be organised. This means a reduction in engineering time.

  • The task inventory assignment means that spares can be assigned from storage or a purchase order can be created.

  • Engineering time and spares costing can be analysed.
